Our Story: From Crumbcoat Cakes and Share N’ Dipity to The Bakehouse
The Bakehouse at Maple Lake was born from a deep-rooted love for baking and a commitment to community.
Our story began with Crumbcoat Cakes for a Cause, Monica’s personal initiative to create stunning custom cakes while raising funds for the Salt and Light Foundation. For years, Monica’s cakes served a greater purpose—supporting families in need in Sri Lanka. This mission-driven passion laid the foundation for everything that would come next.
At the same time, Todd and Darlene Mast were growing Share N’ Dipity, a beloved neighborhood bakery known for its handmade breads, croissants, and pastries. Over five years, they built a loyal following and shared their expertise, recipes, and heart with the community.
In 2024, these two stories came together. Monica and Rick Badgley, a U.S. Air Force veteran, took over the bakery and reimagined it as The Bakehouse at Maple Lake. Monica, now an award-winning cake designer, continues to bring her artistry and heart into every creation. Rick brings a spirit of service and commitment to excellence in everything the Bakehouse offers.
Together, they carry forward a legacy of handcrafted quality—with every item baked fresh and made with care—and a mission that still gives back.
Every purchase at The Bakehouse, whether it’s a loaf of bread or a custom cake, directly supports the Salt and Light Foundation. 100% of profits go toward providing food for families in need in Sri Lanka. It’s why our motto is simple but powerful: Generosity Baked In.
Thank you for being part of our story. Your daily bread purchases their daily bread.
