Our Story: From Crumbcoat Cakes for a Cause and Share N’ Dipity to The Bakehouse
The Bakehouse at Maple Lake was born from a deep-rooted love for baking and community. It all began with Crumbcoat Cakes for a Cause, Monica’s personal initiative to create stunning custom cakes while raising funds for the Salt and Light Foundation. For years, Monica’s cakes provided an avenue to support families in need in Sri Lanka, and this mission-driven passion laid the foundation for what was to come.
Simultaneously, Todd and Darlene Mast were building Share N’ Dipity, a beloved neighborhood bakery offering handmade breads, croissants, and pastries. For five years, they created a loyal following and shared their expertise and recipes with the community.
In 2024, these two beautiful traditions merged as Monica and Rick Badgley took over the bakery, reimagining it as The Bakehouse at Maple Lake. Monica, an award-winning cake designer, continues to create artistic cakes with the same passion that started Crumbcoat Cakes for a Cause, while Rick, a U.S. Air Force veteran, brings his commitment to service and community. Together, they continue the legacy of high-quality baking while keeping the mission of giving back at the heart of the bakery.
